The time has come. Mercury Retrograde is on our doorstep. Cue the mass hysteria, crying, fear, and being afraid to leave the house. This has always been a time that strikes a cord of fear among people who don’t understand what this time is all about (and sometimes even in those who do understand it). 

Think of this as a time to really just slow down and relax. I have always had a really interesting relationship with Mercury Retrograde (I’ll refer to it as MX). I have decided to let you guys in on my secrets to surviving it or at least making the best out of it. Ha!

1. I never sign major documents during MX. This is something that is known but I wanted to share this in case you haven’t heard it before. The reason for this is because MX can cause slight communication errors and signing major things like a lease or a car loan may seem fine, but you will probably realize you could have received a better offer later or find that you misread or misunderstood a term of the document. So play it safe here. That being said, this is a great time to REEVALUATE your current lease or loan or whatever. I had a decent experience renewing my lease during Mercury Retrograde last year, but I took my time and asked my Angels to bless the process. So if it MUST be done, please bring your Angels into the mix and make sure you listen to the guidance that you get from them.

2. I always try to slow down my thought process (which is a bitch because ADD has me going a million miles a minute) and make sure I speak and talk only AFTER I have thought about what I am saying. Misunderstanding a running amuck during this time, so make sure you are really working with your throat chakra (Vishuddha) and keeping it balanced. You can do this by carrying LAPIS LAZULI in your pocket, or just by visualizing white light cleansing your throat chakra. It’s honestly as easy as just having the intention of clearing it and it’s cleared. This chakra center is where your communication in all forms come from, so making sure it’s balanced is necessary in aiding in meaningful and clear communication.

3. BE PATIENT WITH TECHNOLOGY! MX can fuck up everything when it comes to electronics so make sure you give yourself extra time. As I’m writing this, my iPhone is acting stupid. So make sure you back up your phone if you have a smart device, back up your tablets, computers, everything. Better to be safe that sorry if Mercury decides to pay you a visit.

4. Crystals. Crystals. Crystals. Smoky Quartz is my BEST FRIEND during MX because it is a work-horse crystal. This crystal absorbs negative energy from situations and even from your own aura! This is something I love during MX and carry A LOT of. If you don’t have Smoky Quartz, you can still work with the energy of it by just looking at a picture of it and asking the energy of the crystal to be with you! You will still notice the same effects, I promise! I carry a variety of crystals along with me and it’s really up to what you carry and what the intention you have while carrying the crystals are. We talked about Lapis Lazuli earlier, so that’s always helpful to carry! *Quick Note: Crystals themselves don’t do anything. The purpose of carrying a crystal or crystals is for them to amplify the intention that you have set :)

5. Space/Energy Clearing. This. Is. So. Important. When your energy in your home is cleared, and your personal energy is cleared, the energy flows easier around you and it can actually help other people who don’t even know that their energy needs clearing. You can do this with sage, paolo Santo wood, with your angels, or just with your intention. Just know that this is one of the most important things you can do during this crazy time.

6. Oracle Cards. I carry a physical Oracle Deck with me wherever I go during MX. Why? Because if I want or need encouragement, I have a tool that I can draw from that will give me that. Last MX, I used the Keepers of The Light Oracle Cards by Kyle Gray and will probably use those again!

7. Pray/Meditate. Just ask for help. Stay aligned with your truth and keep yourself in tune with the Universe/Source/Guides and know that they have your back!

8. Self Care. Take a bubble bath. Have a glass of wine. Read a book. Play with your pet. Don’t do anything that doesn’t make you light up. Take a walk in nature if you can. Self Care is a big key in navigating MX. When you take care of yourself, you open up more to intuitive guidance and that is crucial to MX.

9. Set Your Intention. Your thoughts create your reality. That is a fact. If you go into this scared and worried, your experience will bring situations that scare and worry you. MX is a higher powered time of self-fulfilling prophecies. So make sure you go into this with this intention to learn and grow.

All in All, Mercury Retrograde isn’t some cosmic conspiracy to fuck your whole life up for a month. Consider it a gift from the Universe, giving you the tools and time that you need to really take care for yourself and reevaluate what you need to fix and let go of. Deck Pressure

**DISCLAIMER: The decks listed in this post are amazing decks, I just didn’t resonate with them, so don't start a witchhunt**

Hi, my name is Andrew and I am a tarot-holic.

*In Unison* “Hi Andrew”

If you have been following me for a while, you know that I LOVE Tarot and Oracle Decks, and I have quite a few (80 last time I counted) of them. Something struck me tonight, that has actually struck me before but I figured people wouldn’t really want to read about it…so if you don’t…then #byefelicia. 

What I want to talk about is Deck Pressure. This isn’t something where people literally force you to buy a deck. No, this is where you see a deck so often on social media that you just HAVE to have it, not because you resonate with it, but because you see the people you love and look up to have gotten it, and you want to have it as well. You may or may not connect with it, but you hope that connection comes.

This has become more and more apparent to me as I have been cleaning out my decks that I just don’t resonate with at all. 

I think back on a particular deck that I bought, The Starchild Tarot. I didn’t connect to the imagery that much, at all. Not that it wasn’t beautiful, because oh my god it’s GORGEOUS, but I just didn’t connect with it at all…my intuition hit roadblocks every time I took the deck out. I got it because I saw that everyone else had it and I wanted it as well. So I spent $80 on a deck I hardly ever used and later sold. 

I am kind of going through this right now with the “Animal Spirit Oracle”. I saw that people were raving about it and I decided to get it because I guess I wanted to be like the ‘cool kids’….and I honestly don’t resonate with it….at all. I don’t know why, but it doesn’t set my spirit on fire or give me goosebumps. The deck is stunning, a masterpiece even. Visually, there is little that can compare. But I didn’t connect to it and bought it anyway. 

See what I mean here? I know I’m not the only one that this has happened to or happens to.

I am feeling a call to calm the fuck down on buying decks that I don’t resonate with immediately. I mean, so what if I don’t have a deck that someone else has? If I don’t connect with it, what damn good is it to have? It collects dust on my shelf and never gets used and I wasted my money.

Now, there is NOTHING wrong with having tons of decks. I am sure I am going to get to 100 before years end haha, hopefully, more will clear out, but who knows? Each deck is different in the way that it communicates with us and in the way our intuition interprets the imagery. That’s the beauty of Tarot and Oracle cards! But know that I have seldom had it happen that I bought I deck I didn’t connect with, and it grew on me to the point I LOVED it. 

I know this post isn’t that interesting, but to those of you who are collectors, you don’t have to catch ‘em all. Buy what jives with YOU! If something catches your eye, look up reviews on it! Research it! 

But don’t buy a deck because you feel like you have to because everyone else has it. 

Tarot is such an individual journey, don’t let your ego trick you into thinking you have to “keep up with the jones’”. This can lead to debt, anxiety, and greed. We don't want that energy around us.

It doesn't matter if you have 1 deck or 100 decks, it has no impact on how talented you are as a reader and/or healer. 

This also goes for your favorite deck creators! Don't feel pressured into buying a deck just because your favorite author/artist made it. I learned this is hard way, haha. You aren't obligated by any means to buy a deck even if you have every deck this person has made. There are some Alana Fairchild and Stacey Demarco decks that don't resonate with me for one reason or another. Does that mean I don't love their work? NOT AT ALL! I love their work, but there is no rule that says I have to resonate with the theme of the deck or whatever else may not jive with me about it.

The same goes for you!

Worry? Or Rise?

What does any of the above words solve? Nothing. 

What do they help with? Nothing. 

Do they heal or hurt? Hurt.

The card that is closely associated to, if not the epitome of, the words above is the ‘Nine of Swords’. That is the card that I drew tonight to write about. 

A few things are associated with this card:

• Insomnia
• Anxiety
• Worry
• Fear
• Doubt

If you find yourself in this space, it is so very crucial to remember to simply breathe. Don’t freak out when things seem like they are out of your control. They are out of your control for a reason. That reason is this: YOU ARE NOT IN CONTROL! 

No matter how much you think you are, you are not. At all. 

Now don’t freak out on me here but think about it, we plan our lives before we come to earth. We plan every major event that we face. Now, along the way we have choices about the minor things in life, sometimes even things that are major to us. But these ‘Majors’, are simply non negotiable. They happen. We are not in control of those things. So when they do happen, we have a choice: Embrace it or Run from it. 

If you embrace it, you will see a side of life you never knew was possible. You will finally ‘see’ that wonderful, brilliant light that is you. If you run from it, you will continue to feel hopeless, lost, and anxious for A LOT longer but you will get to that same point of enlightenment. You will just be even more battered and bruised when you do. 

So, it is your choice..

Spiritual Gifts Spread!!

This spread is one that I made while in the Tarot Foundations 2 course at Biddy Tarot. I love this Spread so much! It was so insightful for me, and I know it will be for you as well. I posted this on my Page, but I wanted to put it in a Blog so you guys will be able to find it easier, and I am going to explain a bit more about it as well.

    So this Spread is set up with 2 columns of 4 Cards, read from left to right, as you can see by the Numbers on each card. 

    This can be used with Tarot or Oracle cards (even BOTH!) 

Lets say you have 2 not-so-happy cards across from each other. What would that mean here?

    Let’s say it’s the 9 of swords and and the 3 of Swords in the position of Clairvoyance. 

    This could mean a couple things but most likely suggests that there may be a degree of fear or worry regarding what you will see and that that fear is crippling you from achieving the purpose that you desire.

    So, don’t fret when you see the challenging cards! They are there to help you! :)

The Devil!

The Devil.

-I apologize for some of the language in advance-

This is not going to be a post full of flowery goodness, heads up! haha

Throughout time, The Devil has invoked fear, anger and been the blame behind pretty much every wrongdoing ever.

A little bit about ‘The Devil’: 

Christians believe that the Devil was once an Angel, an Archangel actually, named Lucifer. He rebelled against God and now is wandering the early looking for people to deceive and take to Hell on Judgement day. 

I most definitely, with respect however, call ‘bullshit’ on that whooolllle idea. All of it. Every last bit of it. I don’t believe that The Devil really even exists. Humans are capable of enough evil without some mythical guy running around causing panic and chaos. I have no tolerance or patience for it. 

Let me assure you: There is no Devil. Everything is fine. Go about your business.

Alright, enough of that. The reason I talked about that is because The Devil Card in Tarot gets such a bad wrap. People get scared of it. They don’t know how to accurately tune into the power and wisdom that this card has to offer.

The Devil in Tarot could mean many things. It could mean that you are too bound to the material aspects of life, a slave to trends and fashions. It could indicate addiction as well, overindulgence in pleasures to the point of ruin such as sex, alcohol, fame, money, and drugs. Geez, that sounds horrible doesn’t it? Enough to almost make you want to stop reading this right now and throw away The Devil card from every deck you own! However, before we go off the deep end, let’s continue talking about this card.

You may saying “Andrew, why would this card be one of your favorites when it has such negative meanings?” Here is my answer: The Devil talks about human nature. It talks about the Ego, and being a slave to thoughts that hold us back and keep us from our true potential! Going back to Human Nature, we are all pure creations made of light, in the image of God (or whoever you like to worship or pray to)! This card is a call to RISE UP and not be afraid of who we truly are! 

Our Ego has one job, to keep us from reaching our true potential by employing tactics or fear, worry, stress, negativity, addiction, greed, anger, bitterness, and resentment to keep us trapped in a low vibration so that we won’t receive that guidance we need from heaven! 

The Devil isn’t bad, nor is it negative. It simply a kick in the ass for you and I when we need it, when we are stifled by the cares and concerns of the physical world when it drags us down.

So, what is hold you back? What is The Devil wanting to show you? Are you feeling trapped? Are you self sabotaging? Are you speaking, thinking, and feeling from a negative space, causing self fulfilling prophecies? Are you repeating lies to yourself that are keeping you from your true power and potential?

If you answered ‘Yes’ to any of these, here is some tough love: Cut that shit out. You are ONLY hurting yourself. No matter how hard to cling to bitterness and anger and negativity, it will NOT get you where you want to be. So stop it. 

Ask Archangel Michael and Archangel Jeremiel to shield you from negativity and show you areas that need changing in your life, body, mind, and spirit. After this, how you proceed is your choice and yours alone.

Patience is a Virtue...but still sucks

Patience is a Virtue…

But let’s get real. Waiting sucks. Waiting for what you really desire is really hard. It is a cruel trick from the universe that we can’t have what we want, when we want it. But you have to think about it like this: What would you do if you never had to wait for anything? You and I would probably become a bit of an ass….just being real. 

The inspiration behind this post is the ‘7 of Pentacles’. I have grown pretty attached to this card, and I still have to say that I still suck at waiting and being patient. It’s a human thing, and I am working on it….stop judging me haha.

For real though, this card is not just about patience and planting the seeds that will grow, this is about having the right type of attitude while you wait. 

I heard a preacher I used to L-O-V-E say this, and I still wholeheartedly agree: “Patience isn’t waiting, it’s how you act while you wait”. 

So, what are you waiting on? A job? A relationship? Money? Remember that how you act while you wait for it determines how fast you will get it! Thoughts, words, actions, and feelings have tremendous power to deter our goals or speed them toward us. 

We just passed the New Moon, so we are in a time of crazy manifestation! So you have to be sure that you are high vibe-ing, and getting your spiritual stuff together! Whatever you are putting your focus and attention on is what you are bringing to you, that is a cold, hard, fact. 

How do you raise your vibration? 

• Being Grateful
• Meditation
• Praying
• Laughing
• Listening to happy music
• Complimenting people
• Shielding yourself in the light of your favorite color to protect your energy
• Journaling 
• Talking to your Angels
• Playing with your pets
• Spending time with friends

The list goes on and on….but basically says this : DO WHAT YOU LOVE!! That is the quickest way to a High Vibration!

If you are thinking about negative things, then your life is pretty much going to suck….just being honest…

However, if you are bring positive, then your life is going to reflect that positive and the Law of Attraction will bring what you are putting out into the Universe! 

So, dear buddy, pal, and friend of mine,

Manifest that positivity into your life and don’t get impatient if you don’t see a change within 5 seconds! It’s coming!! I promise!!

Be The Empress of your life! You to fellas!

Hello All!

Blog post time, again! 

I have two cards today, ‘The Empress’ and ‘Be You’.

Living authentically is something that has been coming up a lot for a lot of people. Authenticity is honoring all sides and aspects of yourself in a way that is freeing and liberating to you mentally, spiritually, and physically. 

The Empress comes to us as a reminder to nurture ourselves and embrace that feminine energy of receptivity and love. We all want to manifest money, abundance, and prosperity in the physical world, but what about in our spirits? Everything that we see on the outside is a direct reflection of what is going on inside of us. There is a song by Alanis Morissette called “Underneath”, and it is literally my jam (find it linked below) because it talks about the direct correlation between our heart and the physical world. 

The Empress is a gorgeous card, a woman who is in touch with her power and her creativity and her light. You can benefit from her wisdom even if you are a male, so get that notion out of your mind, right now (shakes finger). Be prepared for a lot of work ahead, you are getting tons of guidance right now that is unlocking the person that you want to be and person that Universe says you already are. This guidance is meant to be acted on, not sat around and played with. 

‘Be You’ is telling us that it is indeed a challenge to live authentically, and that it is imperative we take every opportunity to be our true selves.

*Example* I recently got a new District Leader at work and she asked what brought me to DC. I had the option to either say“my roommate and I moved up her for ‘xyz’” or “my boyfriend and I moved up here for ‘xyz’”. 

Being gay isn’t something that I advertise, not that I am ashamed in any way, shape, or form, because I honestly don’t give a shit haha, but I just don’t like to throw it in people’s face, it isn’t necessary to me. But I had the option to care, or not to care. And I decided not to care, and it felt really good!!! So that is my example**

These two lovely cards are telling you to use the power of The Empress to launch yourself into a brand new world of authenticity and badassery! haha

Get Moving...

Hello Lovely people!

So I promised to blog more often, so here I am...again...haha. I try to write things with substance that don't waste your time, so I am going to actually talk about things now haha.

I was shuffling my Lumina Tarot deck, which I do whenever I am sitting at the table in my spare time, and I wanted to pull a card, and write about it. So I drew the 'Maiden of Cups'. This is traditionally the Page of Cups, for those not familiar with Tarot.

The message of this card is to pay attention to and, most importantly, TRUST the information that your Higher Self is giving you. This is a time of new beginnings, and your inner child is influencing you right now so you may be starting to see things and believe things that you once simply wrote off. 

Whatever ideas you are getting, you are supported in bringing them to life! Just make sure that you are fully dedicated to idea or project before you share it with others. This prompts a question: What is this card telling you personally? What dreams, projects, or goals have seemed unreachable in the past? Journal this out if you need to.

Sometimes we lose sight of our dreams and ambitions because life just seems to toss us around like a rag doll, leaving us feeling beaten, bruised, and incapable of achieving greatness.

This is B.S.! You have got what it takes to do more than you have ever dreamed of, and don't let one person tell you anything else. You are an amazing, confident, all around badass!

Be True to You!

Hello Everyone!!

I am feeling very 'bloggy' today, and wanted to just share some guidance with you all, and myself! I drew two cards today, one from the Angel Reading Cards and one from the Lumina Tarot (because I am currently obsessed with it and do everything with it because we are bestest friends haha). Our cards are "Angel of Truth" and "Six of Wands". The Angel of Truth card is a great card to me because it speaks of everyones truth being different. My truth differs from yours, even if only slightly. And yours, from mine.

We can't ask others to shape themselves to fit our truth, and they can't ask us to do the same. Only when we live our truth out loud, can we experience that victorious mindset that the Six of Wands brings! We can't keep going on trying to fit societies definition of 'truth', that honestly does't even exist outside of our own mind. We make our own boxes that we try to cram ourselves into, making ourselves miserable as fuck in the process. And for what? So people that we don't even know that don't care about us at all can approve of us? What kind of life is that? I will answer that, it's a shitty one.

This may be a bit harsh, but we are all at that point where the energy is here to work with, we just need to rid ourselves of the B.S. to fully embrace it. I said this in my Newsletter, 2016 is a '9' year. This means that it is time to FLY! 2015 was practice, getting you ready for the 'big game'. You have to show up and show out this year, and you can do that by living in your truth, and ONLY your truth. That will bring you untold amounts of victory and happiness, and will even influence others to do the same thing!!! 

So get out there you beautiful soul,

Career Advice!!

Hello Again!!!

Jesus, it feels like forever since I wrote here, even though it was less than a week ago haha. I am writing this very cold, very very cold. It is definitely an adjustment from NC to DC, but I Will Survive! haha  

Anyway, I am wanting to write to you guys to say hello and tell you about the card I drew for all of you :)

We have the "Career Angel" from the "Angel Reading Cards"! I don't know about you, but my Career is weighing heavy on my heart. I am currently in a job where I am trying to be passionate and happy, but my heart isn't in it. No matter how hard I try, I can't be enthusiastic about it. I know I have to have a job (my lights don't run off magic haha). But I want to be fulfilled. This card is saying that fulfillment is coming!! Positive Changes are occurring even if we can't see them. But we have to help them along! 

I say this all the time: Change is neutral, but the way we react to change determines if it is positive or negative. 

Translating this to your (our) career(s). We have to hold the highest, most positive, vision in our minds that we can! That is so tremendously helpful and is really the 'make or break' between staying where you are and going to where you want to be!

This Angel is currently working with you to heal any emotional issues that are affecting you. And don't be surprised if you meet people who are going to help you with networking or any other kind of searching. Don't despair. It's coming sooner than you think:

Affirmation: "I surrender any worries that I have about my career path to my Career Angel. I feel safe in the knowledge that he will guide me in the direction I am meant to follow to improve my Career"
